In using a popular numerical electromagnetic solver, finite-different time-domain (FDTD) method, temporal and spatial discretization must obey a so-called stability condition. This short paper provides straightforward and easy-to-understand interpretation for the condition than a frequently referred traditional one.

Key words: FDTD method, stability condition
