Call for Applications: 10th JSAP Photonics Award
The Photonics Division of the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) presents the JSAP Photonics Encouragement Award to the first authors of academically outstanding papers in the field of photonics. We welcome applications and nominations from all individuals, including self-nominations. We look forward to receiving many enthusiastic submissions.
Eligible Candidates
The award is intended for the first authors of outstanding original research papers related to photonics, published in academic journals between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2025.
Eligible recipients must be 40 years old or younger as of April 1 of the application year and must be members of the JSAP Photonics Division at the time of the award. However, papers that have already received a prominent public award, or individuals who have previously received this Encouragement Award, are not eligible.

Recommender Information
- Full name
- Contact information
Recommendation Letter
- A letter of recommendation (self-nomination or third-party nomination is accepted)
- The letter should clearly describe the significance and excellence of the paper, as well as the contributions of the candidate and co-authors
- Approximately 1,000 Japanese characters (or equivalent in English)
Target Paper
- One original paper relevant to photonics (a copy is acceptable)
Related Papers (Optional)
- Up to two additional related papers in which the candidate is listed as an author
Award Presentation
The award ceremony will be held during the 2026 JSAP Spring Meeting.
Award recipients will receive a certificate and a commemorative gift.
Application Deadline
September 30, 2025 (Tuesday)
Applications must be postmarked by this date.
