Action Policy

In order to efficiently and effectively promote and extensively spread the research and development of advanced power semiconductors materials/elements such as SiC, GaN, diamond, and Si toward the realization of a very energy-conserving eco society which makes practical use of power electronics developments and concerning technologies, we host lectures, panel discussions, symposiums, etc., and research trend reviews, discussions regarding crystal growth, physicality evaluation, process techniques, devices, etc., as a way of fostering exchanges of information and opinions among researchers while also working to extensively transmit the results thereof.

Because power electronics is especially closely related to individual component technologies relating to crystals, processes, devices, systems, etc., it is important not only to conduct deep discussions where experts discuss individual technologies together, but also very important to have researchers of related technological fields come together to exchange information and opinions, discuss cooperating as a whole, and search for solutions, so we plan to yearly regular lectures in addition to individual panel discussions as a place for comprehensive debate.

Furthermore, we are planning to hold tutorials as appropriate in order to cultivate young human resources who will shoulder the next generation of concerned fields.

Target fields

The following technological fields relating to advanced power semiconductors which bring reform to power electronics such as SiC, GaN, diamond, and Si are our targets.

Activity plans

In order to promote research to advanced power semiconductors and improve, spread and develop technologies, we have the following planned as our major operations.

Regular lectures
Once a year we hold a lecture where researchers in advanced power sc fields can come together to present and discuss research from a broad range of viewpoints. At these lectures, we award a research encouragement prize to a young researcher who proactively promotes their superior research results.
Individual panel discussions
We hold multiple discussion panels where a small number of people can gather to have concentrated discussions on a specified topic.
Symposiums
We hold symposiums as appropriate in order to widely transmit research results in concerned fields in the Japan Society of Applied Physics lectures, etc.
Tutorials / Schools
As a way to cultivate and support young researchers including graduate students, we hold tutorials/schools relating to basic theory and analysis/evaluation technologies, etc.
