Molecular Electronics and Bioelectronics

Molecular Electronics and Bioelectronics is celebrating its 30th anniversary. During that time, as an outlier of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, it has continued energetic activities with hopes and principles for new fields that are not bound by preconceived ideas, and as a result has grown to become the second largest applied physics sectional society. The background to this growth is undoubtedly the wide range of academic fields in which the Subcommittee is involved, the efforts of our predecessors who believed in the future potential of research and fusion in these boundary areas, and the free and challenging activities of our younger members. I am sure that many of you are experiencing firsthand that the dream you had 30 years ago – the fusion of organic molecules, bioelectronics, and the practical application of organic and bio-devices – is now becoming a reality…
